- Prioritized/executed all tasks assigned as acting chief of public affairs with inherited workforce staffed at below 30%. Awarded Base Civilian of the Quarter. Helped establish office for newly created wing within months. Built new partnerships with four elected officials. - Conducted in-depth research on officials and policy issues to create bios and select talking points for base commander. Coordinated with ward councilmembers, mayoral offices, and congresswoman’s office to schedule initial meetings between base commander and elected officials.
- Develop Community Engagement Program. Plan/orchestrate public event participation to foster relations between Air Force, Navy, and civilian community. Liaise with public affairs officers from tenant commands, Air Force District of Washington, and Naval District Washington to coordinate policies, objectives, and programs. Work closely with Air Force and Navy to secure media coverage.
- Direct public affairs program, including internal/public information, crisis communications, media relations, website content management, and community relations activities. Develop communication plans and implement PA tactics/procedures to enhance public understanding of mission, policies, and operations. Assists in PA budget distribution, accountability, and reporting.
- Supervises employees and recommends/selects candidates for vacancies, promotions, and details. Develops performance standards and evaluates workers accordingly. Identifies developmental needs and provides/arranges training.
- Represent Joint Base Command at service/community meetings. Write responses to community relations and public affairs correspondence received by JBC.
- Prepare speeches and comments for command personnel and senior leadership.
